Reflective Practice & Trauma-Informed Support

Psychologically Informed Support for Healthcare, Public Sector & Community Settings

I offer psychologically informed training, reflective spaces and consultation for professionals working in healthcare, education, childcare, social care and community organisations.

This work is grounded in my background as a registered therapist, alongside over a decade of experience working within public sector and community settings. I have delivered training and reflective work with children’s centres, childcare professionals and frontline staff, with a particular focus on trauma-informed practice and reflective capacity.

Many professionals in caring roles are working under significant relational and emotional pressure. Without adequate space to reflect and make meaning of this work, the risk of burnout, compassion fatigue and staff turnover increases.

My approach supports organisations to think psychologically about the people doing the work, in addition to the work itself.

Areas of focus

I work with teams and organisations to support:

  • Reflective practice
Creating safe, structured spaces for staff to reflect on their work, relationships and emotional responses. This helps to support learning, provide contaniment and increase resilience.

  • Trauma-informed ways of working
Supporting professionals to understand the impact of trauma (on service users and on themselves) and to work in ways that reduce re-traumatisation and emotional overload.

  • Relational dynamics in teams
Exploring how stress, power, culture and role pressures show up in relationships between colleagues, and how these dynamics can managed and held more thoughtfully.

  • Psychological safety and containment
Helping organisations create environments where staff feel able to speak, reflect and ask for support, rather than carrying distress alone.

How I work

This work can be offered through:

  • Reflective circles or reflective practice groups

  • Training sessions and workshops (half-day or full-day)

  • Team away days or staff development days

  • Consultation for leaders or managers supporting frontline teams

Sessions are tailored to the context and needs of each organisation, and are delivered with safeguarding and organisational boundaries in mind. This is not therapy, but it is psychologically informed and trauma-aware.

My background

Alongside my therapy private practice, I have over ten years’ experience working across children’s social care, NHS mental health services, youth offending, custodial settings and drug and alcohol services. My work has been shaped by a commitment to trauma-sensitive, culturally competent and relational practice. This experience continues to inform how I hold space for professionals working in emotionally demanding roles.
